今年梅雨期，湖北省391支农机作业应急服务队冲在一线，全力抢排农田积水。
6月底，受连续强降雨天气影响，武穴市四望镇吴义岭村港边畈水位持续上涨，泵站因高强度连续工作“罢工”，600多亩在田优质水稻眼看就要被淹。农机服务队迅速行动，武穴市农业农村局高级工程师刘国春冒雨赶到吴义岭村港边畈泵站，经过几小时精心检修调试，水泵终于恢复“上岗”。村主任吴义勇感激地说：“多亏了武穴市农机服务队及时抢险，水稻得救了！”7月21日，湖北日报记者在吴义岭村看到600余亩水稻长势喜人，丰收在望。
大法寺镇南截流港原九牛山泵站加足马力，也远不能满足1万余亩在田作物的紧急排涝任务。当地农机服务队抽调10余名党员、志愿者组成抢险队伍，两台大功率水泵、多根救灾排水管迅速调配到位，抢险队紧急加装排涝设备，抢修水泵，加紧抽排，保护农田不受涝。
汛期，全省农机系统充分发挥农业机械在抢排、抢种、抢管方面的优势，组织水泵、高效植保机械、耕整机械、插秧机、直播机、谷物烘干机等适用机具，投入农业防灾减灾。126个农业应急救灾中心、391支农机作业应急服务队“上大分”，3738台履带式拖拉机、46.5万台（套）水泵等排灌设备随时待命，通过疏通排水道、农机抢排等措施，全力抢排田间积水649万亩。
暴雨过后的高温高湿天气，农作物病虫害极易滋生。石首市农业农村局组织一支支农机作业服务队，开展稻田飞防。一架架无人机有序穿梭，将农药均匀喷洒在稻叶上，一架无人机一天能完成四五百亩稻田喷药任务。全省大力推广无人机等高效植保机械，降低汛后病虫害损失，累计完成防治病虫害面积742.5万亩次，补施尿素、喷洒叶面肥925.2万亩次。
眼下，湖北进入“双抢”时间，各地农机作业应急服务队迅速投入早稻抢收、晚稻抢种中。截至7月21日，全省已收获早稻175万亩，进度接近九成；晚稻栽插108万亩，进度过半。同时，各地调度拖拉机、水稻插秧机、播种机等，加快重灾地区的复耕复种进度，除局部高水位江滩地块外，全省基本完成改种补种任务。
