12月16日，湖北省政府新闻办召开新闻发布会：12月20日—23日，2024湖北农业博览会将在武汉国际博览中心举办。本届农博会由省农业农村厅、省乡村振兴局主办，主题为“智汇荆楚 播种未来”，省内外1563家企业、科研院所将为市民端上年货盛宴、科技大餐。
湖北农博会是省级层面举办的农业盛会。本届农博会紧扣科技创新，特设农业科技展区，集中展示156项重点农业科技“新奇特”“尖板眼”，举办“院士专题报告会暨农业‘三新’技术成果发布会”“新质生产力赋能乡村振兴高质量发展学术交流”等活动。突出新兴业态，通过互动演示等形式展现智慧农业、生物农业、垂直农业等，设置直播带货区，特邀网红达人、乡村“头雁”等为农产品代言。加大品牌推介，围绕潜江龙虾、仙桃黄鳝、江汉大米、楚天好茶、随州香菇、秭归脐橙、洪湖莲藕、蕲春蕲艾8大公用品牌设置省级品牌展区，精心打造“荆楚之味”和“荆楚饮食文化”鉴赏区。注重数字赋能，集中展示农业物联网、农田遥感监测系统、数字乡村、“互联网+农业+金融”服务模式等。
其中，武汉市将展出2000多款名优特农产品，设置区域公用品牌“江城百臻”特展，摆出“一碗热干面、一条武昌鱼、一罐汪集鸡汤、一把洪山菜薹、一支蔡甸莲藕、一根汉南玉米、一碗黄陂三鲜、一袋休闲零食”的“八个一”美食矩阵。
本届农博会还遴选了一批与百姓生活相关的科研成果参展，包括米饭型全谷黑米新品种“华墨香3号”、无肌间刺团头鲂新种质、高产高蛋白宜机收玉米等40余项。展会期间，还将同步举办新品发布、品牌推介、集中签约等21场活动。
