秋日时节，稻谷飘香，湖北省3000多万亩中稻迎来收获。在素有“鱼米之乡、湖北粮仓”美誉的荆州市，荆州区马山镇农技中心主任娄兵望着稻田喜不自禁。他介绍，近年来，在各级农业农村部门的支持下，马山镇受益于科技赋能的订单农业，眼前这片种有“花香两优6号”等新品种的优质稻谷，米厂加价30%收购。
“‘花香两优6号’2023年通过湖北省品种审定，其父母本都具有香味，显著特征是优质、味美、口感好。”湖北省农业科学院粮作所研究员徐得泽说，以前提到香米消费很多都是国外品种，现在国内自主选育的香稻品种，完全可以与之媲美。
在湖北百亿斤粮食产能大市襄阳市，各类现代农机装备奔驰在希望的田野上。在枣阳市南城街道后湖村，湖北省农业科学院、省农技推广总站在此举行今年审定的杂交水稻新品种“E两优2300”高产创建现场会，示范田机收测产验收数据揭晓：亩产903.4公斤！现场一片欢腾。
“真没想到长得这么好！”后湖村种植户段仁富说，每个步骤他都是在农业专家的指导下进行的。8月遭遇持续高温少雨，他原本担心减产，没想到还超过了超级稻的产量标准，真要相信科技的力量。
农业农村部水稻专家组成员、华中农业大学教授黄见良介绍，在近年来这种连续高温条件下，“E两优2300”在田间仍能实现穗大粒多，生长平衡，结实率高，无倒伏，熟相良好，这一测产结果超出湖北水稻平均亩产约300公斤，体现了较强的高产潜力。
围绕服务保障国家新一轮千亿斤粮食产能提升行动和湖北“三农”高质量发展，湖北省农业科学院坚持以“用”为导向开展科技创新，持续深化院地合作，创新成果转化模式，充分调动专家的能动性，促进水稻等产业提质增效，带动农民增收。
夯实粮食安全、推进种业创新，科技正担当。湖北省农业农村厅相关负责人表示，近十年来，湖北着力打造全国农业科技创新引领区，大力实施育种创新行动，持续开展良种科研攻关，农作物良种覆盖率达96%，一批引领性、原创性和标志性的重大农业科技成果竞相涌现，一批直播稻、再生稻、高档优质稻专用品种，以及“糖友1号”低糖大米等功能性粮食品种，有效服务粮食生产结构调整需要，让稻田变成“聚宝盆”。
