近日，中国工程院战略研究与咨询项目“加快建设武汉·中国种都”预结题评审会在湖北省农科院召开。记者现场获悉，武汉市已汇聚14名院士、300余名科技特派员及10万涉农人才，为“武汉·中国种都”建设提供人才支撑。
打造“武汉·中国种都”是省委作出的重大战略部署。截至2023年底，“武汉·中国种都”已落户国家级创新平台32个、联合技术攻关平台10个、企业研发机构82家。依托在汉高校和科研院所，武汉打造7000亩杂交水稻科研基地与30万份种质资源库，并通过神农设施强化跨学科合作，推进种业科技创新。湖北洪山实验室、华中农大等科研机构研发成果丰硕，如发现玉米水稻共同关键基因，分别提高产量10%和8%；选育出油菜新品种，含油量高达55%；武大红莲型杂交稻国际领先，推广超4.5亿亩，经济效益超90亿元。武汉国家农创中心高效搭建产学研桥梁，促进包括水稻全基因组育种芯片在内的百余项成果转化，推动种业全产业链迅猛发展。
