日前，湖南省水果高质量发展现场推进会在长沙望城区召开，通过现场观摩、集中授课等方式，推动全省水果产业标准化、市场化、数字化、智能化发展。中国工程院副院长邓秀新院士参加会议并授课。
与会人员参观了位于望城的金菽丰良种繁育基地、智博蓝莓基地、舒记果园基地。该区以舒记果园为核心区，在铜官街道中山村境内打造“北纬28度水果世界之窗”，计划每年引进世界同纬度“新、奇、特、优”水果品种100个，成为全省规模最大的亚热带水果品种展示中心和优良水果品种引繁推一体化示范基地。
邓秀新院士作《湖南柑橘产业高质量发展的思考与建议》专题报告，阐述了我省柑橘产业发展的优势与不足、柑橘黄龙病危害与有关建议等。“水果猎人”杨晓洋作《新媒体推动水果产业高质量发展》专题报告，用实例说明如何运用新媒体推进水果销售和品牌建设。
据了解，截至2023年，全省园林水果种植面积870万亩（不含西甜瓜），居全国第9位；年产量810万吨，居全国第12位；水果第一产业产值约304亿元。在长沙市，形成了长沙县开慧镇白沙时鲜水果产区、望城区近郊休闲水果产区、浏阳市浏东线水果产业示范区和宁乡市西部水果集中产区4大特色片区。
