湘北地区天寒地冻。2月28日，湖南省岳阳市平江县伍市镇颜家村种粮大户赵寿光的育秧大棚却是热火朝天，村民在农业技术人员指导下，清理膜污，搬运基质，储备各种育秧物资，为即将到来的大棚育秧作准备。赵寿光告诉记者，目前已准备早稻杂交种子4500公斤、秧盘6万片、育秧基质90吨，能满足1500亩早稻育秧所需。
今年，湖南省岳阳市计划种植早稻235万亩。岳阳市县乡三级派出180个技术指导组共计600余人次，奔赴田间地头开展摸排调研和技术指导，督导农户对大棚进行加固和加温，加强种子、化肥、农药等农资调运，降低雨雪冰冻天气对春耕生产的影响，确保全市能在3月中下旬全面开展春耕生产。
岳阳市农业农村、供销等部门加强对种子、农药、肥料市场监管，及时调运种子、肥料、农药、地膜、农机等生产物资。目前，该市已储备种子1350万公斤，储备以复合肥、尿素为主的各类肥料12万吨、各类农药707吨，储备农膜758吨、软盘7352万个，满足春耕生产需求。
岳阳市农业农村局局长黎朝晖介绍，该市拥有大中型拖拉机、插（抛）秧机、联合收割机等各类农机具4.13万台，已检修1.82万台。技术指导人员陆续开展32场次培训活动，已培训农机手1720人，为春耕生产机械化操作保驾护航。
